This month the theme is floral.

I JUST received my New Catalog pre-order...yup - a perk of being Demo in SU is getting to order some product from the new catalog a whole month before anyone else. You can become a Demo on my team - The KILTS by clicking HERE.

So, I decided to open the box and use some of that product. 
There are flowers galore in the new catalog - whatever your taste in flowers - there is a stamp set to suit you!

I decided to use the CELEBRATE SUNFLOWERS Bundle, the IN GOOD TASTE Designer Series Paper, the LOVELY LABELS PICK A PUNCH, the JAR PUNCH, MASON JAR SHAKER DOMES and FOREVER FERN BUNDLE  to make this card. I stamped the sunflower with Stazon on to watercolour paper and coloured with blender pens. I used the bubble wrap that's inside the delivery box inside the 'jar' to create some 'water'.

I then created this framed piece using the same product and an old 8x8 frame. If you look closely - the photo doesn't really show it, there's a small 'shelf' that the 'jars' are sitting on.

I was so happy with this little frame that it's already sitting on a shelf in our living room :)

Welcome to the Kre8tors April 2020 Hop in which we are participating in a 'Spring' themed hop.

Spring to me is soft colours and flowers and getting the pots in the garden planted up and looking pretty.
And this Spring, Stampin' Up! have given us a sneak peek at upcoming new 2020-21catalog product - the Ornate Garden Suite. Mine just arrived a couple of days ago so I thought I would break it out and make a card. This suite is quite - well, ornate! It's not my style typically as you know I prefer clean lines and simple :)  But - the great thing with crafting is that you can do what YOU want with products right? 

Here is the front of the card I made. I cut some of the flowers from the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Paper, used the Ornate Borders Dies across the middle of the card, the Ornate garden Ribbon and the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set. I added a few Gilded Gems to the centre of the flowers.

On the inside of the card I created a little pop up 'pot' using the bag from the All Dressed Up dies. I cut more flowers from the Ornate Designer Paper and layered those in. When the card closes the whole 'pot' goes flat for mailing.

Welcome to the Kre8tors March 2020 Hop in which we are participating in a Green Monochromatic Colour Challenge.

I am so happy to be back after another visit to Scotland to get ready to Register as a Nurse in Texas! Now I just face a couple of exams and the looooong process will be done! But for now I am enjoying some time in my craft room - which is still all a bit new and exciting after it's post Hurricane Harvey refurb!

Anyway - enough of my waffling :) and on to todays project. 

When I'm faced with the challenge of creating a Monochromatic card I have a wee panic.  So, I thought I would go down the 'green' and 'March' route and create a St. Patrick's Day project. But, as I was tidying up card kits from my card buffet I wondered if I could recreate a few of those cards in greens.

Here are the results....

​This card was initially a 'Happy Easter' card on this week's card buffet...I didn't think I could use green for the bunny or the chick in the 'Welcome Easter' stamp set, so I used the lamb and changed the card a little into a baby card.

​I added a little Wink of Stella to the sheep to give it a little something - but you can't quite see it in the photo.

The next card began on the buffet with a Calypso Coral colour palette (and CASE'd from Windy Ellard), but I changed it to Pear Pizzazz. I used the Noble Peacock Foil Paper and the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder for the background layer - it turned out really pretty - it was almost sad to cover it up (but it's an idea I'll keep in my head for another time).

The next card on card buffet this week was inspired by a card created by Monika Davis and was originally in So Saffron and Sahara Sand. I used the original leaf colour of Mossy Meadow as the base for the green version, stamping off the smaller flowers before stamping on to the image...so this card only uses Mossy Meadow, although the layer of Vellum and the stamping off create some lighter green tones :)

I have to admit when I saw this months theme was 'Thanks' I thought it was a bitty weird - we usually do 'Thanks' in October or November...but then I got to looking at some stamp sets and realised it would be nice to make some Spring coloured Thanks cards rather than Fall looking ones!

So, my card has butterflies - something I always consider spring-like even though here in Houston butterflies tend to emerge more in early fall - we just don't have 'Spring' here!!

My project uses the exact same product along with some Girl Scout Cookies!! :)
​These Thanks-a-lot cookies are perfect for this theme!!!

Welcome to the February 2019 Kre8tors Blog Hop!

This month's theme is Love or Valentine's. I had created an easy replicable 'LOVE' card for a swap some time ago - but the Postal Service didn't deliver them on time to be swapped so they were all returned to me - which has turned out as a good thing because I can use them all for the Residents at Magnolia Evergreen Cottage where I now work.

The Residents of the Assisted Living/Memory Care cottage that I am Manager at have made little Valentines mail boxes and those are waiting to be filled....so if you would like to send anything  (cards or treat boxes) to help me fill them - the address is Kirsteen Gill ED, Magnolia Evergreen Cottage, 21605 Provincial Blvd, Katy TX 77450. It would mean SO MUCH to these residents and would brighten their day!

​Anyway - this simple card uses the 'All my love' Designer Paper and Ribbon Combo Pack as well as the 'Heart Epoxy Droplets'

I have to admit this challenge really had me scuppered at first - but I REALLY enjoyed making this project once I got started. Maybe it's because it is spring-like colours and a nice change from all the Christmas and Holiday items of late.

I used the cardstock colours in the ribbon and sequin packs and then twisted and rolled the ribbon into circles to create 'flowers' and folded the green to make 'leaves'.
