Kre8tors June 2020 Hop

Welcome to the Creatin' With Kirsteen stop on the June Kre8tors Hop.
This month the theme is Masculine.

Who doesn't struggle with Masculine cards?
Heck - I struggle to think of gifts as well as cards...what to get the man that has all the stuff he wants?
A GIFT CARD! And - make a gift card holder to show him you care enough to make something ;P

For this Gift Card Holder I used some new product from the 2020-2021 catalog, some carry-over product and one of my tutorials from a few years back.

This is a double slider card - with a slot for a gift card in one of the slider 'wings'. When you pull the tab on the right hand side, a tab slides out from both sides :)

As I said in the original post for this Double Slider Gift Card Holder - usually these are made with 12" wide pieces of card stock - but I altered the dimensions so we can use regular 8 1/2" x 11" card.

There's a list of products used at the bottom of this post.

A tilt of the head...

6/27/2016

Don't you think any animal looks SO CUTE with a little tilt of their heads?
Already cute animals get even more cute!
There are so many animals you can make with the Foxy Friends Bundle - a stamp set with matching punch.
We used this bundle at The KILTS meeting this past weekend, and made a few projects with it.
The first was a little raccoon - with a titled head - it is as though he is asking 'How're you?' ' How's things?'
And so I paired him up with a sentiment from the Sitting Here stamp set that seemed so appropriate for him with his little head tilt whilst sitting on a tree stump...

Simple St.Valentines card using left over Red Foil Cardstock

2/6/2016

Yesterday I showed you a card that used Red Foil cardstock as a whole  layer - and if you cut that foil carefully you'll get 12 cards from a pack of card with a few bits left over.
Here is what I did with those left over bits....punched out lots of little hearts using the mini hearts punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
I embossed some thick Whisper White cardstock with the Happy Heart Texture folder and added a little X and O from the Bloomin' Love Stamp Set.

Bold, Bright Botanical Blossoms

Don't you love the POP! that white embossing powder gives on a dark card stock?
And the contrast of bright colors on a dark background?
I had already decided I wanted to include white embossing on a dark card in my card Buffet Class last week but was struggling to find something else to use on the card when I saw Dena's card HERE had the black and white layers - but the pop of color was just what I was looking for.

HINT: Use your embossing buddy - a LOT, on dark card stock.
It's okay to get lots of powder on the card - yes it leaves the dark card looking cloudy but once you've embossed with your heat tool you can go back with a VERY slightly damp cloth and give the card a wipe - this will return the dark card to it's original rich dark color ;)

Quick & easy St. Valentines card

1/12/2016

I am not a hearts girl - so I find designing St. Valentine's cards for card buffet class quite difficult. I do like clean simple lines though and when I saw this card layout HERE, I knew it would be great using some of the Love Blossoms designer paper as well as a wee bit of bling from the new Blushing Bride Glimmer paper. The splodges from Gorgeous Grunge stamp set give the card a wee bit more dimension too.

Don't you LOVE Fall?
I do...the crisp mornings and the colours.  It is something I very much miss living here in Katy Texas - we don't really have Fall. Certainly not the way Scotland has Autumn!
But, I can get to play with Stampin' Up! colours and pretend!
So, at a recent Downline event I used Fall colours to create the table settings, then used those as inspiration for a fall card.,

The New In-colors - getting to love them!

6/7/2015

Last week I worked on a little packet of notecards as a door prize for my Catalog Sneak Peek. These new In Colors are growing on me....
Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, and the background color - and color of all the leaves is Cucumber Crush.
For these cards I used the Aqua Painter - very gently, and picked up ink from the lid of the ink pads. Then I went back and very gently added some darker color with the fine tip of the markers. The stamp set is called 'You've Got This' - another 'thought-I-wouldn't-like-it-but-do-now' of the new products :)
