3D Thursday Seasons Frame

4/29/2021

Welcome to Creatin' With Kirsteen. This Thursday I am a 3D Thursday Guest Designer :)

Just over a month ago I started a new job - for those of you who do not know - I am a Hospice Nurse and I moved to a new company called 'Seasons'. So, when I saw the Beauty of the Earth Suite in the upcoming 2021-2022 Stampin' Up!  Annual Catalog I knew I had to create something to go on my office wall and, since Demonstrators could pre-order the suite, I took the opportunity to make a little wall art for my 3D Thursday contribution.

I made this 12"x12" piece to go into a frame - now I need to find the time to go buy a frame - then I can hang it in my office! It makes me smile when I look at it!

I hope you feel inclined to have a go making this piece. If you'd like to - the tutorial link to download is at the bottom of this post.

Kre8tors March 2020 Hop

Welcome to the Kre8tors March 2020 Hop in which we are participating in a Green Monochromatic Colour Challenge.

I am so happy to be back after another visit to Scotland to get ready to Register as a Nurse in Texas! Now I just face a couple of exams and the looooong process will be done! But for now I am enjoying some time in my craft room - which is still all a bit new and exciting after it's post Hurricane Harvey refurb!

Anyway - enough of my waffling :) and on to todays project.

When I'm faced with the challenge of creating a Monochromatic card I have a wee panic.  So, I thought I would go down the 'green' and 'March' route and create a St. Patrick's Day project. But, as I was tidying up card kits from my card buffet I wondered if I could recreate a few of those cards in greens.

Here are the results....

This card was initially a 'Happy Easter' card on this week's card buffet...I didn't think I could use green for the bunny or the chick in the 'Welcome Easter' stamp set, so I used the lamb and changed the card a little into a baby card.

I added a little Wink of Stella to the sheep to give it a little something - but you can't quite see it in the photo.

The next card began on the buffet with a Calypso Coral colour palette (and CASE'd from Windy Ellard), but I changed it to Pear Pizzazz. I used the Noble Peacock Foil Paper and the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder for the background layer - it turned out really pretty - it was almost sad to cover it up (but it's an idea I'll keep in my head for another time).

The next card on card buffet this week was inspired by a card created by Monika Davis and was originally in So Saffron and Sahara Sand. I used the original leaf colour of Mossy Meadow as the base for the green version, stamping off the smaller flowers before stamping on to the image...so this card only uses Mossy Meadow, although the layer of Vellum and the stamping off create some lighter green tones :)

All You Need Is Love
Welcome to Creatin' With Kirsteen and welcome to the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for January.
If you get off track at any time, the full line up of blogs is at the bottom of this post and can help you move along from blog to blog.

This month our theme is 'All You Need Is Love'.
I've done a few St.Valentines and 'Love' themed projects lately...but I am SO not a 'hearts' or lovey-dovey girl...
And, although Stampin' Up! has awesome St.Valentines appropriate product, the thought of making MORE St.Valentines stuff kind've made me panic...So, I went 'Wedding' for our hop theme this month.

For the card I revisited a favorite fancy fold and used the Botanical Builder Framelits and Blusing Bride Glimmer Paper and card stock.

For this heart decor piece I again used the Botanical Builder Framelits to cut lots of Blushing Bride flowers which I then layered onto a heart I cut from Window Sheet.
I found this old frame under my desk (there's LOT's of treasure under there hahaha!) and thought it would be perfect to hang the heart on - kind've rustic?
The bows were all made using the Easy Bows technique.

Some flowers cut from Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper, and a few Pear Pizzaz leaves, breaks up what had become a bit monotone, and gives the piece a little bling - along with pearls and a touch of Wink Of Stella on the centre of the flowers.

I then stamped an image from the Balloon Builders Stamp Set and layered it on some more glimmer paper before popping it onto the bottom of the frame.
