Black, White and Whatever You Like (1 color)
Welcome to the Stampin Friends February Blog Hop!
We will be hopping on the third Thursday every month, with a different theme to inspire you each time :)
The theme for February is 'Black, White and whatever you like (1 other colour)'.
If you just arrived from Elizabeth Jeanne's Blog, thank you for continuing with the hop!
You can continue on the blog hop from here in a loop by clicking on the Next button below.
This month we are excited to have awesome Guest Hoppers that you should definitely check out!

3. Angela Carter

In yesterday's post I mentioned where I had gotten inspiration for my failed blog hop projects from - CLICK HERE to read it.
Inspiration can come from anywhere and today's projects are no different...but a wee bit of scene setting first...
For several years as a family we have played 'punch buggy' whenever we see a VW Beetle on the road. Seeing one first entitles you to 'punch' (not hard) the other people in the car.
Now, I drive our 15 year old son to school and back each day - and there are a LOT of VW Beetles in Katy. So, my mornings usually contain a few punches in the right arm - I am too busy concentrating on the crazy drivers around me to watch out for Bugs, but I swear our son is looking for them more now than when he was 6!
One day last week he was on a roll - I must have been punched 6 times...then *I* spotted one this colour - what I can only call Pacific Point!!! Hahahaha!
Since we had never seen one that colour before, and I was really struggling to choose another +1 to the Black and White theme,  I took that as a sign I was meant to add the dreaded Pacific Point - one Stampin' Up! colour I really do not migrate to voluntarily!!
So, my inspiration for these projects? A VW Bug :)
Picture
I used 'Love Story' Project Life by Stampin' Up! cards to create the cards, along with little Pacific Point flowers and Black leaves cut using the Botanical Builder Framelits.
I added some sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes, some pearls and some Pacific Point ribbon. On one card I coloured the flowers using a blender pen and the Pacific Point marker.
Picture
I then made a bag to hold the notecards from the Brights Designer Paper Stack - using my Box Bag Calculator HERE
I added a Black Button and a few Pacific Point Candy Dots - I LOVE it when everything from the card stock through ink, ribbon, Deisgner Paper, buttons and candy dots ALL MATCH - that's why I am SU crazy!

Kirsteen- your projects ALWAYS inspire me, your creativity is amazing and I just adore how you incorporated a color you don't just love and then knocked this challenge out of the park! Thanks for your Box Bag calculator! that is going to be very handy indeed!

Kirsten yes that is a bold blue but I think black and white demands that in the accent color, great job. Thank you for sharing your bag calculator I was pretty good with math but after 2 strokes last year I am struggling. This will help with my frustration and I can not thank you enough.

I sometimes struggle with this color too but I have been finding that the more I use some of the colors that aren't my favorite the more I like them. I love that you used Project Life cards on your cards...so cool. #SFFebHop

Great idea! never thought a VW bug was inspiring...but I did own a Yellow one many years ago...It's name was...Tweety Bird! So I think after using your color combo I am going to make another using Daffodil Delight! Imagine that! A VW inspiration and I didn't get punched!
