I attended Stampin' Up! OnStage last week in Salt Lake City (AWESOME event by the way - we got the NEW CATALOG!!)
On Saturday a snow storm swept across the country leaving Denver Airport closed - phew we thought - as we were flying back to Houston via Dallas!
Then there was the rainstorm that swept across Texas - and that caused multiple delays in Dallas :(
After being bumped to another flight - and then that one being delayed, my Roomie and I finally arrived in Houston at 11.30pm having left our hotel at 9am.
But that wasn't the end.
We arrived in Katy to heavy rain - and areas of my back yard and patio were under water :(
When we awakened on Monday morning schools were closed, hubby's office was closed, and our street was under knee high water. The bayou at our back yard had breached - although thankfully it had not reached our yard. Alistair spent some time emptying the pool and cleaning drains to try to get better drainage - but it didn't make much difference. Monday was spent on tenderhooks just waiting on a break from the rain.
Tuesday the rain stopped, and the water receeded a fair bit by the afternoon - although the bayou is still at the highest I have seen....we had more rain Wednesday and as I write this, more forecast for Thursday.
We are lucky though - so many others in our area have been devastated by the flooding, and sadly lives have been lost. It makes the inconvenience we have experienced seem pretty small :(
Anyway - this has all meant I haven't had a chance, or the mojo, to create...but, one of my swaps for OnStage did have an animal on it - so I decided to amp that up and share that with you :)
Appropriately it has a toad on it - I say that because this is the noise at the back of my house which is on the bayou, after all the rain. I am sorry about the photo quality - I had to try to snap these as quickly as I could.
