Easy knots and Christmas Cuties Cards

10/11/2015

Several years ago my Stamping' Up! 'Mom' showed me how to easily add a nice knot to a card....using of all things - a punch!

This technique is a great way to save a little ribbon, and to avoid that curling of the card stock when you wrap ribbon all the way around and then tie the knot on the actual card. I always work on a card layer when I am adding ribbon - rarely do I add directly to a card base.

These two cards use the 'Christmas Cuties' Stamp set from the 2015 Holiday catalog.

On the elf card I stamped onto Whisper White card stock then coloured with blender pens taking ink from the ink pad. I then stamped the image again onto Gold Foil paper, cut out the bells and stuck them onto the colored image using the fine tip glue pen.

For the Angel card I stamped the image onto Whisper White card, smooshed/smothered/scrunched versamark over the entire image then heat embossed using Irredescent Ice Embossing Powder. Then I stamped the image again this time onto velum using versamark ink, and heat embossed with silver embossing powder and cut the wings out. The top layer I stamped onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured with Blender Pens. Then I used a blender pen to pick up some versa mark and coloured in the sash and shoes. I then heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

Hi there. That was a great video and I can't wait to try it tomorrow. Do you do the same when you are making bows on the card?

Thanks so much!

Finally a brilliant way to punish all those expensive punches that don't punch completely through or thatveat the paper ,! Wonderful and clever.
