Welcome to another stop on the Stampin Friends December Blog Hop!
This months Hop theme is 'New Year Celebrations'!
If you have hopped on over from Melissa's Blog you can continue on after this stop by clicking on the 'Next' button at the bottom of the page.
At home in Scotand, once the Bells have rung at midnight on Hogmany, you would never enter another persons home without taking in a gift - even just a wee thing - traditionally the 'First Footer' - the first person over your threshold after the bells would bring coal - and a traditional greeting is 'Lang may yer lum reek!" implying "May you never be without fuel for your fire!", but more literally translates to "Long may your chimney smoke!
We've no coal here - and at the moment in Texas the weather is back in the 70's! So, as an alternative to welcome in the New Year I made a card and a gift bag to match to carry a bottle gift - along with a little bottle tag. What's better than Gold on celebration crafts?

The gold foil and the gold embossing powder really do make this card shimmer when you see it up close
To see how to make a bag like this - click on the link below - there's a video and calcualtor I posted last year to help you. And also a video on how to make a nice knot on your cards.....I used designer paper 15" long to make this bag - the base is 5 1/2" square which scored at 1" all around makes a 3 1/2" square base. I did use a little more length (15") than I normally would as I did want to make the bag a little funnel shaped - not traight up.
I really love Stampin' Up! Embossing powder - because it's so fine - you get a lovely even melt - no bubbles or pitting :)
