Fleece Navidad card

7/15/2016

The little animals in the Barnyard Babies are soooo cute!
But they're not only for Baby Cards!
This was one of the cards from my 'Christmas in July' class this week.
We stamped the sheep and then put glue over the body, then laid a cotton ball on that-let it dry then gently peel the cotton ball off and just enough will be stuck to make the sheep 'fleece-y'...perfect for the Christmas sentiment 'Fleece Navidad' :)

Bella Thank You Treat Bags For Volunteers
Yesterday I spent a couple of hours making tags for these 25 mini treat box Thank You's for volunteers at a local animal shelter.
Bella from the 'Bella & Friends stamp set was the perfect choice don't you think?

On this Blog Tour we are highlighting some of the new stamp sets and accessories from the 2016-17 Catalog.

What I love about SUDSOL is that it is a huge resource for information - of projects, ideas and tutorials.

When browsing through the SUDSOL tutorials I found one for a Suspended Easel card HERE, and decided that this fun fold would be a good one to showcase on the tour - especially since there are so many stamp sets in the 2016-17 catalog that can be used for a suspended easel card!

My first card uses the 'Sitting Here' stamp set -  the swing is the 'suspended' part. I used Thick Twine to hang the seat from, and the vase of flowers as well as the sentiment are what holds the 'easel' standing up.

And, my second card uses 'Bella and Friends' where I have suspended Bella and her balloon in the clouds. She does actually move around as i used some Bakers Twine for the balloon string. The aperture for the suspension, and the sentiment inside were cut using the new Layering Square Framelits

And my third suspended easle card uses the 'Fairy Celebration' Stamp set where the branch is suspended from the side and the fairy is hanging mid air :) I again used the Layering Square Framelits to cut the aperture. This time I used two to create a frame and adhered that to the card using the new Foam Adhesive Strips.

Easy peasy quick card...

The Serene Scenery Designer Paper Stack makes quick easy cards do-able AND pretty!

I made this card in just a few minutes with black ink and a few stamps. It is layered - but you needn't even do that - just stick the paper directly onto the cardstock.

For this one I used the Wetland stamp set - not it does come with a Birthday Sentiment - but Card Buffet is this week and it's in one of the 20 boxes ready for class attendees, so I used this one from another set - but you could use any sentiment don't you think?

A Note of Thanks Gift Card Holder

7/4/2016

Today I finally opened my Detailed Floral Thinlits. I haven't had the chance to open them since we were gifted them on The Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation Med Cruise as one of our pillow gifts.

O. M. Goodness!!!!  What an AWESOME set of thinlits - the detail is so intricate!

I decided to use them on a Thank You gift card holder for a dear friend.

So, this isn't a 'card' in the traditional sense that it opens or is folded in half.

This is a 'pouch' with a card that pulls out - and another 'pouch' on the back with a tiny envelope for a gift card to be snuggled into.

This is the front - little tab at the top is there to pull the 'card' out the pouch

Once pulled out and turned over - this is the back of the card - with another pouch for the mini envelope

The envelope is made using the envelope punch board and lined with Floral Boutique Designer Paper

Llama and a Christmas Swap Card

7/2/2016

You may remember that I made this light-up Christmas Card HERE.
Well I revisited the card and made it a little simpler, to participate in a swap.
This time I turned the card to a landscape orientation and stamped all the sentiment on the front.
Instead of adding the baubles from another set of Framelits, I added Jewels to the tree and to the Santa Hat on the Llama. Didn't it turn out cute? I think this will be a great addition to my Christmas in July Card Class too!

There's a small stamp in the Birthday Fiesta set that looks like banners - it's perfect for the cactus 'Christmas Tree' garland - although just a little too big - you can use a post-it note to make it fit...
  • Line your post-it note up to the edge of your cactus
  • Stamp the 'banners'
  • Remove the post-it note - and you have the perfect size garland on the 'tree' :)
Here is what I used to make this card:
