Out on a Lit-up Limb!

When I ripped into the Holiday Mini at Convention

this year, the first set I saw was this one...

'Out On A Limb'

I knew it would be an excellent light-up card -

with a moon in the background.

My only concern was how could I make a punched

out vellum circle look like a moon?

Then, a few days ago I was playing with the stamp set

French Foliage and saw the PERFECT solution.

I used the dotted stamp in that set, with versamark

and clear embossing powder, to give the moon craters!

My September Stamp camp attendees loved this!

I added Smooch Accent Ink (Moonlight) to piant the clouds,

and the Illuminate Top Coat to highlight the cat

and the witch....sorry the photos aren't great...

that Illuminate Top Coat really shimmers!!

I used the Tasteful Trim Big Shot die to make

the scallops for the roof

and added a couple of spiders, with the top coat to

shimmy them up a wee bit.

So, when the battery tea light is put in the card,

this is how it looks.....

Oh so clever...never would have thought of using that stamp to make moon craters. You sure see things in a different way Kristeen.
I love this set and love the way you made the roof too. Thank you for sharing.

What a clever idea. That witch is so cute. And I agree that she reminds me of Bewitched. So cute.

A very cute idea Kirsteen.  This would be a great moon on any card. How clever of you to 'see' moon craters on a stamp in another stamp set. TFS

Fab idea!  I love this set.  I saw a peak at the inside.  Did you stamp the branch and bats on a piece of Whisper White?

I am so impressed - this is such a gorgeous card!  I normally don't make Halloween cards however just have some new friends from the US arrived here in Australia so this has given me lots of great ideas to make a card for them.
