Lite Up Tree Card

Tonight some members of The TOPICS got together for a 'Demo Evening'.

We had a great guest speaker - Karen Burniston.

For those of you who don't know - Karen designs pop up dies for Sizzix as well
as Stampin' Up! Exclusive Pop up dies.

She gave us some great tips on how to assemble both the
Pop Up 'O Christmas Tree' and ' Three Tier Cake' dies.

We also had a Christmas Card Swap....which was also a little competition.

We all voted for our favourite swap card.

The winner got the Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set.

And.....
I won!!

Woo Hoo!

I really wanted this set for a project I am working on......
(more later!)

Well.....I am a bit obsessed with tea lights at the moment!
And, a couple of years ago I had made a pyramid card at a Stamp Camp
and thought it would make a great tree.  Well, it has been in my head all that time!
Finally last week I sat down and made it!

Here is my card.

swap_1

Now, a bit boring I hear you say.....

But, that's not all of it!

Do I ever do anything by half?

Open it up and here is the inside - along with a little tea light.

swap_3

The inside of the card reads.....

This Christmas Card was made for you!
To assemble it here's what to do.....
Unfold from flat, to see the tab,
Don't panic - it will look fab!
Tuck the tab inside the slit....
A Christmas tree - but that's not IT!
Switch the tea light on and put it under....
And it will become a Christmas Greeting Wonder!

So....unfold the card and lay it down, and the card becomes the
base / skirt.

Then following the instructions - put a tea light under the tree....

swap_5

And switch it on!

I really enjoyed making these - the trim around the 'skirt' was a
bit fiddly - some of the women at Craft Club today helped me
with that!
