A Pull-up Card

eastercard

This is my 'Easter Card Swap'.......the first I arranged with the ladies from my Stamp Camp.....unfortunately, it was just before I left the States, so may be the last for a while :-(

Pull the ribbon tab and.......

Here's how to make the card......the template could be used for any occassion..........

What you need:

1 piece 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cardstock for the main card base (I used Sahara Sand)

(Optional) 1 piece 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" Designer Paper for the top of the card (or stamp images/ decorate the main piece of cardstock)

1 piece 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" Cardstock for the back of the card (I used Vanilla)

1 piece 4 1/2" x 3 3/8" Cardstock for the slider tag

One 1/2" x 7" piece of copy paper for stabilizer

Ribbon, eyelet, Double sided tape, Stamped images cut out or some die cut images, adhesive, paper cutter with cutting and scoring blade, Circle Punch, Hole Punch, Stamps and ink.

Instructions

easter1

Take the 'back' of the card - here I was using vanilla.....using the circle punch, cut a half circle in the short end.  Then line this piece up with the main card base (Sahara Sand), with an equal space creating the 'frame' or 'mat' around it - but don't stick it down, then line up your punch with where you cut before and cut the half circle through the base (the reason you are doing this is so that the half circles will line up - your circle punches won't like cutting through 2 layers of SU cardstock, so you need to cut them one at a time)

Stick your DSP onto the base - you need to use glue ALL over the DSP, to make sure when you pull the tab eventually, the DSP will be stuck properly.  (You can stamp images onto the 'base' instead of using DSP!) Then, turn over and match the circle punch up again - to punch a half circle out of the DSP.

Next, slide your front cardstock into the paper cutter vertically. Line it up with the 3 1/2" mark and cut from 3/4" to 4 3/4".

Take your cardstock out, flip it around and make the same cut on the other side.

Cut from 3/4" to 3 1/2", connecting the two vertical lines.

1  2

Using the Scor-pal, line it up in the corner and score at 1 1/2", and 3" (from one cut to the other).

Then turn it around and line the edge up at the 3 1/2" and score at 4 1/4" (so the score is at 3/4" from the edge)

Take your 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of cardstock for the slider part of the card. Wrap your 1/2" x 7" piece of copy paper loosely around it and tape or glue the end together. This loop will keep your slider part stable.

3

Tape your "stabilizer" to the back of your front piece of cardstock. Tape it right over the the top score. If it shows through the circle cut out, just use your circle punch to punch it.

4

Remove the slider and add a strip of Sticky Strip on the bottom of the flap.

5  6

7

Take your slider part, slide it through your "stabilizer" loop.

Peel off the liner of the Sticky Strip™ on the flap and line the end of your slider part up with the end of your flap. Tape it on.

9

Place Sticky Strip on the remaining 3 sides taking care not to stick to the slider.  Remove the rest of the Sticky Strip™ plastic and line up the back piece of cardstock over the front piece and stick.

10

Then decorate the front of your card - I used several different colours of the Cherry Blossom embosslit, the chick and egg from 'A Good Egg', and carefully positioned them so they would 'pop' up when the slider is pulled!

13  14

15  16

Pull your slider part out a bit and punch a hole in the middle of the top.
Tie ribbon through the hole.

Pull your slider out a bit, revealing the back. Stamp an image or a saying in it. You could also write your message here if you want.
