My Design Team Entry......Round 1
A Box of Daisies!
Well, I wasn't successful this time, but when one door closes,
I guess another is unlocking elsewhere and I just have to find it!
I really enjoy making 3D items, things that pop-up, or
'do something'....letting us addicted crafters get more use out of
something than it was originally intended for.
So, my first round entry was a Pop-Up Box of Daisies.
The lid is on....
And when you pull the lid off - the basket flops open and the
daisies pop up!
Here are a couple more photos!
The project didn't turn out ANYTHING like I had
planned in my head!
But I had great fun experimenting and working out how to do it
and then really enjoyed the actual making of it!
Alistair laughed when he saw the finished piece.
it was due on the Monday evening, and on the Sunday we sat
trying to work out how to get the thing to
'pop up'....I thought I would involve the engineer....
but that didn't work!
Anyway, when he left for work on the
Monday morning, it was a box with nothing in it but a couple
of failed mechanical ideas of mine!
By the time he came home at 6pm I had it completed,
photographed and submitted....Good days work!
Now, none of the products I used were Stampin' Up!,
so now I have challenged myself to make the same thing -
but with SU product! Give me a few days and I might even have a tutorial!

My Design Team Entry......Round 2
A scrap book page of
My Gran and Grandads Wedding

I was so blessed to have ALL four of my Grandparents alive until I was 40!
And my children had the chance to know them too!
This scrap book page is of my Paternal Grandparents Wedding Day
....They were married for 60 years!
Sadly, my Granny McLean passed away since their anniversary.
Grandad McLean, although struggling with some health issues,
is still cracking jokes!
I cut out shapes with Shrinky Dink and made a border
as well as the little embellishments that are on the left.
I used circle dies and then cut spirals in them to make the roses.
I couldn't find ribbon to match - so I dyed my own.
