Day of Gratitude meets the Top Note die

Stamp Camp was great fun today - it has been an awful long time since I have had a Stamp Camp, I have missed everyone so much whilst living in Scotland! (You guys are great company!!! I had such a laugh - Thank you!) When everyone left, all my supplies were out, so I had a little crafting session and here is the result.

THE STORY.....

Whilst chatting to Cathy today, she mentioned that she hadn't much used the Top Note die she had for the Big Shot.....

I went to my stamp room and brought it in so I could show her a few things you can do with this die - and believe me there are loads!

In one of the Stamp Camp projects we were using the new stamp set 'Day of Gratitude', from the Holiday mini catalog......so I inked up the large image and stamped it.

Then later, when everyone had gone and I was tidying up, I realised that the shape of the Top Note die when it was rotated and re-cut, was similar to the shape of the large image in the Day of Gratitude set........so here is how I got there......

*****

You will need:

Big Shot (Order number: 113429)

Standard Cutting pads (Order number: 113475)

Top Note die (Order number: 113463)

I have used Cherry Cobbler Card Stock.  I have run a white gel pen around the Top Note so you can see the shape of the blade.

The sandwich (layers) you need, from bottom to top:

Cutting plate, die, card stock, cutting plate

And you will get the basic Top Note shape.  Rotate the card stock 90° and run through the Big Shot again using the same sandwich.

This is the shape you will get.

Rotate the card stock 45° and run through the Big Shot again.

Thank you sooooo much!  I loved your design, and had forgotten how to do the mat. I'm going to use it in my next workshop for a demonstration! Great job! Great tutorial!!

Thanks so much Kirsteen!!! What a fab tutorial!  I have been holding off buying a Big Shot but seeing what you can do with 1 die shows me I can do LOTS of things with it - I'll email you my order!!!!

OH GOLLY!
Kirsteen, you are just too too creative.  I am going to sit next to you from now on so maybe it will rub off!  This is just gorgeous!

I am in AWWWW of what you did... I honestly have never thought to change the orientation of the paper on the die to change its look and you did it multiple times to get multiple beautiful mats, all of which are easy to repeat... THANK YOU for sharing this wonderful idea.

Thank you so much for this demonstration!  I LOVE it!  It couldn't have worked out more perfectly for the Day of Gratitude stamp.
